Meet the Love Decorating team
Dan
Dan has been decorating for fourteen years having served an apprenticeship in Kent in 1993-94. In that time he has gained much experience, from completing the smallest of jobs to managing the redecoration of St. Paul’s community center in Bristol. Previously sole-trading under his own name, Dan set up Love Decorating in September 2006 when he began making the switch to eco-paints.
In 2000 he completed a first-class honours degree in Sociology and Environmental Issues at Bristol UWE. For the last four years he has been running a boys football team in a Somerset village, and recently completed a two-year training course in Taoist healing work. His interests include personal growth, sustainable living, sport, the outdoors generally, and music. He DJ’s, playing all sorts of genres, and can be hired for your special occasion!
Emma
A mother of four, Emma is a talented Somerset artist, painting large abstract canvases in oil, using colour to convey feelings and internal landscapes. She has exhibited in Bristol, Warwickshire, Taunton and other venues in Somerset. Twice a painter then, Emma has always been a keen decorator, using her eye for colour to create vibrant living spaces. She is really excited at using the non-toxic paints as she cares deeply for the environment.
Additionally to working part-time with sandpaper and paintbrush, she offers a complete colour consultation service to help you choose the right shades and tones for your home.
Hugh
Hugh draws on over twenty years experience in the construction industry, and has been sub-contracting for Love Decorating since its conception. He is particularly enjoying working with natural paints, noticing how his body no longer feels depleted after a day’s painting. When working away together, he loves beating Dan at Backgammon.
Away from work, Hugh gains great satisfaction coaching a youth football team in his community, and the impending possibility of joining a league next season is taking his excitement to new levels. If you have a spare hour, ask him about it! He is also a passionate Manchester United supporter and very happy about them being champions again. Hugh is a nature-lover and enjoys all sorts of gardening, from seed planting and nurturing to full landscaping. Spiritually, he follows a medicine path, participating in ceremonies locally and abroad.
